Hello friends and Happy Wednesday!
I was thinking of all the bright colors in my closet this spring and had a little giggle reflecting back to the movie “Devil Wore Prada”- “florals for spring? Groundbreaking”! LOL! I think spring is always full of bright, fun colors but for some reason I’m really rocking them (no matter what Miranda Priestly says- I don’t need her permission, I don’t work for her!)
So I thought I would share two of this week’s fun bright spring looks that I love (closet shopping win)!
First I couldn’t resist going all purple/pink on Monday! Seriously, who can resist such fun colors! Purple is actually my favorite color (I might not own enough purple items, that’s something I would love to fix). I wore pink slacks with a pink/blue/purple plaid blouse from JCPenney along with my purple Walmart espadrilles and a super cute lavender bag I snagged from Target. (All of these items are budget friendly-my JCPenney shopping usually involves a discount or coupon and obviously my Walmart shoes are not breaking the bank 😉
I LOVED LOVED being all pink and purple…I think I was more cheerful and pleasant (ok the sun was shining too) but color really seems to make me happy.
Then yesterday I had to wear more COLOR! Specifically I wore my bright poppin yellow slack, a floral/striped blouse, my super cute yellow polka dot kitten heels and a bold pink bag! I was feeling very bright and happy! My slacks, blouse, and bag are all JCPenney (bag and blouse are old) and my heels are a special find from DSW about a month ago. So far I’m trying to wear them as often as possible as they are so super cute and very comfy.
I hope these colorful looks are inspiring to you and give you the courage to try something fun for yourself. Don’t be afraid to wear what you want. You might inspire someone else too!

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!
It’s the first Monday in May! I’m so excited for warmer weather! My yard is coming back to life and I love all the new blooms and leaves. Spring is such a wonderful time.
I thought I would share my love for yellow this season! I invested in several yellow pieces: yellow blazer and pants along with yellow lace dress from JCPenney, and yellow polka dot pumps from DSW. I think I’ve worn one of these pieces at least twice a week since I’ve added them to my closet! How fun is that? I love to take pieces and just wear them on repeat with SEVERAL other items. It makes me feel very creative and a smartie pants when I do this.
So here I am sharing my several mellow yellow outfits! This might just be my favorite color this year!!
Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day!
I have a new schedule the last couple of weeks and I’m just trying to get used to it, please don’t mind my absence from blogging. Soon I will get the hang of it and be posting regularly like usual.
I thought I would share my love of polka dot! While on a trip to Boise to visit family almost two weeks ago, I discovered at DSW the most amazingly cute little polka dot pumps you have ever seen! I mean a good pump is a great purchase (it must have a perfect heel and be comfortable) but a pump with ton of flair AND those two options is a great find!
Here is the Anne Klein Fayza Pump! It comes in lemon yellow polka dot fabric and black snakeprint faux leather, and let me tell you it’s so comfy and cute! First the heel is so dainty and feminine, while also great to walk, then the ankle strap with buckle is wide and so visually stunning.
I saw this gorgeous shoe from one aisle over and had to run to the other side because it was so freakin cute. Unfortunately the store did not have my size, but I promptly went online and ordered my size. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive so I could wear it!
Here is a link to find your own darling shoe in yellow polka dot. You are welcome my friends 🙂

Hello Friends and Happy Monday! You might ask, is Monday happy? How can that be? Well I didn’t have terrible traffic on the way to work, I was able to check all my emails and update my excel sheet before my two groups. I’m now able to create a blog post on my lunch hour, the sun is shining….that’s enough to make me happy! Actually, just the sunshine makes me happy, it’s been raining forever (I exaggerate a bit right?) LOL
So I wanted to share my discovery of the color yellow! I wore it a few times last summer but did not really throw myself into it. I just dipped my toe in the yellow shade with some other colors to balance it out. But this spring, I’m all in friends! ALL IN!
I discovered this awesome yellow (Pineapple-on the website) jacket and matching pants at JCPenney-Worthington and I was in love! Is it a lot of yellow? YES and that’s what makes it fun! It’s so bright and colorful you just can’t help but smile. I was deciding what to wear with it and I landed on this cute melon top (also JCPenney) that just makes all the yellow pop the more and added a melon lippie to go with it. I needed shoes too but have a white floral pump from OldNavy last year that is perfect with this spring look! (These items are also very affordable)
I got so many compliments that I was so happy I went out on a ledge to wear all yellow. It’s seriously the bomb and you will love the way you feel wearing all one bright color this spring! Try it out, you won’t regret!

How are you all doing?? I hope you are well and thanks for reading or following my blog! This has sure been a fun road!
Today I wanted to share my newfound yellow dress! I’ve been on the hunt a couple months for a yellow dress- I’ve found several but style/size/length somehow hasn’t worked. It’s been a (buy the dress- I’ve bought two at Target)-then next day return for reasons listed above. (For some reason I really don’t like trying on items in the dressing room of a store-that annoys me) so I’m constantly or often returning ill fitting items that look good on a hanger. 😂
So late (9pm for me 🤣) I checked out some emails arriving earlier in the day and discovered one from someone I follow: Rach Parcell who launched her own clothing line. Amazingly enough I discovered a yellow gingham wrap dress that was in my budget (her every day line-less expensive) and yellow, along with wrap style (flatters my figure) and ruffles! Checks all the boxes right ??
I have to admit I ordered it that night and was excited when I got it two days later! It’s seriously a darling dress and I paired it with some pearl earrings, pearl necklace for church (no necklace for work) and my new white wedges from Amazon Prime Wardrobe! (I’ve wore the dress twice since I got it- and I think when the season cools I could wear it with my jean jacket and my blue cowboy boots and be super cute!)
I added a link to the dress and wedges so you can buy if you’ve been searching like me!
Have a great day friends!Rachel Parcell Cheery Gingham Dress
The shoe is Rockport Briah Perf Sling -when I try to add link it goes directly to my Amazon account- weird huh?!
Hello friends and Happy Friday!
How is everyone today? I hope you’re all well and looking forward to the weekend! I know I am! Thanks again friends for reading my blog, I appreciate your encouragement and follows 🙂
I discovered the most darling yellow striped tee at H&M (City Creek Center) the other day along with some bomb sunnies! (I also met one of my IG friends that evening @stylequeenie and she is such a doll! She is easy to talk to and we have so much in common!) Anyway, I bought the Tee and sunnies, such a good deal; they were each about $14.99 so I thought it a great purchase and so affordable.
My yellow striped tee reminds me of high school. I had a darling (terry material) bright yellow tee trimmed in red (around the sleeves and hem-my school colors) but every time I wore it, somehow horrifyingly coincided with an in school assembly, so for some reason that color really stood out in a dark auditorium. One particularly horrifying time, a musical group- a band came to play and pointed me out, asked me to stand-then they did a cover of Elvis’ song “Hound Dog”….really?? That’s exactly what a 17 year old, shy, insecure, and someone super aware of her acne needs to hear and be singled out. Needless to say, I got rid of that horrid shirt…who knows maybe I burned it? That’s a terrible memory, and to this day have not wore yellow…PTSD maybe?? LOL
So now you know what a big deal it is for me to actually buy a yellow shirt! This shirt is bold, bright, and really beautiful. I wore it with confidence friends 🙂 Sometimes it takes years to be confident, but better late than never right?
Hello Friends and happy Wednesday!
It seems as if Wednesday came really quickly to me, what happened? Well I attended a neighborhood gathering on Monday, last night went to the movies and all of a sudden it’s Wednesday! Yay! Maybe I should have plans every night for some type of fun? It seems to lower my stress with work right?
I thought I would share a fun look inspired by my recent copy of In Style magazine (Demi Lovato on the cover).
I love to get inspiration by magazines and I saw in one page spread several pictures of light pink and yellow or gold together. I thought I would copy that look with my baby pink sweat pants (JCPenney) and my yellow “anchor” sweatshirt (OldNavy). It’s a fun combination, although a little casual for work, so I added my pink (Coach) sandas (I got them last year for my daughter’s wedding) and a fun (Betsy Johnson) bag I got not too long ago at TJMaxx with glittery rose gold earrings. I think the accessories raised my look to more dressy for work.
When I got home I switched into my pink sneakers for a fun movie night, we saw “I Could Only Imagine” and seriously it was amazing. Go and see if you have a chance, great movie! Hope you like my pink and yellow look and….happy Wednesday!
