Couch Potato Plan

Hello friends!

How are you all this wonderful Wednesday?? I’m so glad the week is half over. I’m telling you my training was tough tough tough. It’s the most difficult thing I’ve done for years!

We spent the whole training in silence which was not as difficult as spending (25) 25 minute meditation-which means I sat on a chair with a straight posture, my feet flat on the floor and my hands resting on my knees without moving. (Some people sat on cushions with their legs crossed but baby my knees are at a age that I cannot sit cross legged anymore LOL) So I sat on a chair. It was so hard! But I made it through and am very proud of myself.

We did this training on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound outside of Seattle Washington and oh my gosh it’s such a pretty area. The smells of the forest around us was AMAZING! I couldn’t figure out what smelled so good until a co worker, born and raised in Washington told me it was the redwood trees, cedar smell. Friends, I’ve never been so in love with trees before. OH MY GOSH it was so beautiful, so that helped to balance out the HARD.

But last night as I got home from work, I had no desire to do anything but lay on the couch, (I was so tired) cue up my new Jurassic World movie and eat Thai food. That was my couch potato plan and I enjoyed it!

Enjoy the pictures I’m adding of the area around The Whidbey Institute. It’s a gorgeous place. I’m also adding pictures of the cabin we stayed.

Selfie Suggestions (SAFETY)

Hello Friends!

I hope you all made it through Monday?? Thank goodness it’s almost over; it rained and snowed my whole commute to work! Me and Monday are not friends at all! If it’s ever forecast to snow on Monday, you can bet your first child that it will be at 8am! :/ My life problems right?? LOL

So I think everyone knows about my scenic trip to two of Utah’s National Parks over the weekend right?? Well there’s one thing you didn’t know….

We traveled through Bryce Canyon National Park and it is beautiful. I’ll share some fun pictures but I did want to share my thoughts about selfies as I visited Bryce Canyon.

We walked up to the highest elevation overlook-Rainbow Point at 9115 elevation and as I look over, I see a young woman straddling the protective wall meant to keep people from falling over the cliff. I felt super anxious as I worried that she would topple right off-and tumble down 800 feet (the wind was also super gusting at that elevation, so would be easy to loose your balance). She is also on her phone either facetiming or taking a selfie…I can’t tell which.  I walked over by her and asked her ‘who is going to save your life if you fall’ and she kind of shrugged and got down…Seriously people! This totally freaked me out and was very dangerous! Please please be safe when you take pictures or selfies. I understand the need for selfies….c’mon I take them just about every day, but please be safe when doing so. It’s not worth getting hurt, maimed, or dying. It’s just not worth it.

Back to beautiful pictures of Bryce Canyon National Park 😉

National Park Heaven

Hello friends!

On the last day of my special four day weekend hubs and I traveled home through another of Utah’s National Parks- Bryce Canyon National Park. We get to spend time driving home and love to take scenic routes. (Does Utah have more National Parks than any other state??) Utah has Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands (Canyonlands is the only Utah National Park I haven’t visited- I have a special love for my home state National Park-Yellowstone ⭐️)

It’s a casual, comfy, car day and I wore a cute spring outfit (while looking for a hat {never need an excuse to shop} to wear in the sun-from Dressbarn-the blouse has pretty spring colors that I love and the pants are linen which are nice in the hot weather.

I looked up the answer for which state has the most National Parks:

California has the most (nine), followed by Alaska (eight), Utah (five), and Colorado (four). The largest national park is Wrangell–St. Elias in Alaska: at over 8 million acres (32,375 km2), it is larger than each of the nine smallest states. The next three largest parks are also in Alaska.

Summertime

Hello friends!!

How is everyone this fine Saturday?? I’m having a lovely four day weekend with my hubby! We drove to St George Utah for our anniversary and are just hanging out, visiting Zion National Park, went to a concert at Tuacahn (David Archuleta!) and are having a good time 😍

Yesterday before the concert we drove to Zion National Park and hiked a couple trails- (at one point we passed a couple girls taking selfies and one said to the other- “that shows your chubby arms”?? as I walked by them I told her”you do not have chubby arms”!-be positive about your body friends!) seriously people I’m in heaven -it was gorgeous! I’ll add some pictures!

Anyway we got to the concert; before it started we discussed what to do the next day and I want to do more hiking- hubs does not and I ask him “do u want to live”?? At our age (hubs is older than me) we need to keep active so I figure I’m extending and improving his quality of life by making him hike when he would rather sit! 😂😂 oh my goodness!

So at Tuacahn we saw David Archuleta and I had so much fun! He really has a beautiful voice; he did some of his new album “Postcards in the Sky” some of his older songs, a medley of “Greatest Show”, a song from Lion King II, “If I Could Only Imagine”-originally by Mercy Me and it was a wonderful concert (thanks to my son Connor for tickets!)

Today we are headed back to Zion, do some more hiking, get some grub, stop and visit family, and then maybe hang out at the pool.

It’s a beautiful morning friends! Have a great weekend!

Week full of tripping

Hello friends!

I told you I would update on my trip to my clients service.

My trip started at 130 am… wait what?? Yes I accidentally woke at 130 and finally just dragged myself out of bed at 145. I figured it was hopeless to try for 15 more minutes of sleep and actually I’m glad I did cause I’m a little of an early bird so those extra few minutes made me very calm.

I fell asleep on the plane; let’s face it, it was dark, quiet, and the buzz of the engines just pulled me right to sleep 😴 I’m pretty sure my mouth was open, I sleep with my mouth open, I could in theory catch bugs. I was rudely awakened when someone’s phone went off! I actually dreamt I was at home and slept through my alarm so I woke freaking out! (Luckily I did not wake my neighbor lol)

I even got to the rental car company without (don’t think so) looking as if I had no clue what I was doing! That’s a win win!

Then I plugged the Church or Cathedral address into my google map on my phone and off I went (stopping off at a luckily found Denny’s for breakfast as I was starving! Seriously who wants to eat breakfast at 3 am?? Wasn’t feeling it) then back on the road… but as I entered the chapel it did not appear as if prepared for a service. It looked like an ordinary day…? Help

Yes I went to the wrong church, apparently two have the exact same name but in different cities …so I had to high tail it out of there and hopefully make it on time! Thank goodness I did, I think it meant a lot to the parents that I was there, they seemed comforted and I got to hear lots of wonderful memories of my client throughout the day. It was a beautiful day, I was exhausted but it was a beautiful day.

I did try to go shopping afterwards and found the “most noted” mall in that particular city but by the time I drove around downtown looking for parking I figured I would not have enough time to make it back to the rental car and airport before my flight so I did not shop- I know, sad huh. Although I did see a great deal of said city and really enjoyed driving into these tall tall skyscrapers that I hadn’t seen before! I felt brave and accomplished going on this trip and renting a car all on my own -I am woman – ❤️

I got back home pretty tired, you can see by the pic I took at airport I’m dragging a little. But made it home, yay!

Now tomorrow me and hubs are going on a road trip for our anniversary! We hope to relax and go hiking, catch a movie, see a concert, lay by the pool and just chill. I’m super stoked to be going on another trip for a four day weekend! Here are pics of a couple outfits I’m packing because they’re so summery! Got them both at Target.

I just want to thank you, my friend. Thanks for reading! I sure appreciate all the support you give me by reading my blog, it means a lot. Have a great Thursday (tomorrow)!

Happy in sorrows

Hello friends!

I thought I would give an update to my week- it’s been a full week!

My employer is paying for me to travel to (city- undetailed as it would give info about my client) and visit my client’s memorial service which is really nice that they are willing to take care of this for me.

I have a couple of worries I will share:

1. I am an introvert and the only person I know is (dead)- I’m trying to be respectful but I don’t know another way to phrase it (at the same time I think my client would see this as a humorous situation)

2. I’ve never visited (certain city) other than the airport – and will be driving myself around- I hope I don’t get lost

3. I have to get up at 2 am for my flight- I might be tired – I will for sure need food (where can I find gluten free food in (city?) to help address fatigue

So I’ve googled all the places I need to drive and looked at the maps of all the locations. I also noticed several shopping locations which look like fun (my return flight is later so I might have an hour or two to explore). You all know I excel at shopping!

I do love to travel and discover new locales and I think discovering a new place and shopping (#self care) might distract me from being sad or overwhelmed on this trip. I’ll let you know what happens!

Me and Rose DeWitt Bukater

So since I’ve been sick, I’ve been watching a lot of movies. Usually when I’m sick, I watch a lot of Jane Austen…but this time I seem to be hooked on disaster movies. Being sick calls for lengthy movies (so one doesn’t have to constantly get up and put another movie in…Jane Austen movies….especially Pride and Prejudice…go on forever! Which I love, I love the period dramas/comedies…they’re so fascinating but also long which is perfect when one is ill) But this time, since I just went on a cruise, I felt a fascination with Titanic and Rose DeWitt Bukater!

She went on a cruise-I went on a cruise…granted her cruise ended differently than mine. I noticed one thing:I am not the biggest high maintenance woman on this planet!

I offer evidence of my claim: here is a picture of me at the airport with our luggage (I have two 50# checked bags and one carry on bag (my husband also has two checked bags, but I’ve put shoes in one of his so I guess you have to count them all) and here are pictures of Rose DeWitt Bukater’s luggage (character played by Kate Winslet) “all the trunks from that car there, 12 from here, and the safe to the parlour suite rooms B52, 54, and 56”-explains Cal’s assistant, that bad guy that’s always harassing Rose and Jack. I don’t have near the same number of bags, of course she had these huge hats and several beaded dresses along with corsets that took a lot of room; but holy cow they had TRUNKS…have you ever seen a trunk? I could’ve got all my clothes in my closet into one trunk…I only had two suitcases and a carryon…who knew I’m a simple woman.

Maybe I need to up my game? I’ll be pondering my simple nature (compared to Rose DeWitt Bukater) while I watch another disaster movie-“2012” which coincidentally also has a cruise ship… maybe the next movie will be “Poseidon”???
