New Year Renewal

Hello friends!

Happy New Years Eve!

I hope you are all ready for 2019! How did the year go by so quickly??

I’m happy for a new year; it’s like a fresh start (and of course then there is spring {after snow melts in a couple months}and everything in the earth is new too)! I love renewal and fresh starts!

I’m happy for all I learned in 2018; I benefited from training in two interventions (DBT PE and EMDR) to help my clients with trauma and that is amazing! I love to help my clients.

I also got to spend a lot of time with my family and hubs which I love! I decided to spend more time with my grandkids this year, I will set aside every other Saturday to play with them. I’ve been normally very protective of my Saturday’s as it feels like my recharge day from work but I realized time with the grandkids does the same thing for me ❀️ plus they’re so freakin cute! And they each let me kiss them to pieces! They’re so sweet to their grandma! On Christmas Day, the three year old almost choked me out saying “I’m giving you big hugs grandma”! He’s so cute! (And very πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‚)

I need to think of fun activities to do with a 8, 7, 4, and 3 year old that doesn’t wear me out but they love. If you have ideas, pass them on to me ❀️

That’s my goal for this year! Have more fun with my family! I think I can definitely do that ❀️❀️

I hope all of you as my wonderful readers get to discover the many blessings of 2018 and a renewed sense of joy anticipating 2019. I wish you and yours a wonderful New Year. Thanks for reading friends!

Couch Potato Plan

Hello friends!

How are you all this wonderful Wednesday?? I’m so glad the week is half over. I’m telling you my training was tough tough tough. It’s the most difficult thing I’ve done for years!

We spent the whole training in silence which was not as difficult as spending (25) 25 minute meditation-which means I sat on a chair with a straight posture, my feet flat on the floor and my hands resting on my knees without moving. (Some people sat on cushions with their legs crossed but baby my knees are at a age that I cannot sit cross legged anymore LOL) So I sat on a chair. It was so hard! But I made it through and am very proud of myself.

We did this training on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound outside of Seattle Washington and oh my gosh it’s such a pretty area. The smells of the forest around us was AMAZING! I couldn’t figure out what smelled so good until a co worker, born and raised in Washington told me it was the redwood trees, cedar smell. Friends, I’ve never been so in love with trees before. OH MY GOSH it was so beautiful, so that helped to balance out the HARD.

But last night as I got home from work, I had no desire to do anything but lay on the couch, (I was so tired) cue up my new Jurassic World movie and eat Thai food. That was my couch potato plan and I enjoyed it!

Enjoy the pictures I’m adding of the area around The Whidbey Institute. It’s a gorgeous place. I’m also adding pictures of the cabin we stayed.

Fashion Addicted Self Care

Hey friends!

How was your Monday? Glad it’s over??? Me too LOL

Last week I took a values assessment (work related) and I discovered in four values areas: work, relationships, leisure, and personal growth-health that I am lacking in the leisure area. Who knew??

I graded myself two dots away from “bullseye” in work and relationships but then realized I work pretty hard and am dedicated- along with being connected in the vital relationships in my life- so I thought that might be a judgement of myself.

I graded two dots away from bullseye in personal growth/health because of my nasty fall on my bicycle that still gives me a little grief (my knees at times), but I realized I was quite farther off the leisure bullseye so I committed to do several things this week: read for personal enjoyment, scrapbook a couple of pages, load some pictures and articles on my family history site and in those ways find more creativity and relaxation than I have lately.

Guess what books I got….

friends I’m so excited! Devil Wore Prada is one of my favorite movies so I got almost halfway done with the book today! It’s such fun! I loved the comedy, the actors, the lines, and ooh baby- the clothes. I snagged Chasing Harry Winston just because it’s by the same author, I’ll let you know what I think!

I saw Oceans 8 the day it came out and my favorite thing was the clothes. I notice clothes a lot in movies. I’m just a fashion addict doing some self care that doesn’t have anything to do with fashion………LOL

Thanks for reading friends ❀️

Destroy an Ugly Car!

Hello friends!

I’m in the middle of a relaxing evening and hubs wants to watch a James Bond movie.

I’m always down for Bond; and we started Quantom of Solace. (I love Sean Connery although I think Daniel Craig is best bond evaa).

One thing I notice as the movie starts, DANG IT! THEYRE DESTROYING ANOTHER GORGEOUS CAR! Seriously how many Aston Martin automobiles must die in the name of Bond??

Couldn’t we just sacrifice a Pinto or a Nova or (LOL) a Prius?? Why can’t the pretty cars be safe??

I really like cars; did I mention that?? Just not a Prius πŸ˜‚ (I would be giddy if a Prius was trashed in a Bond movie. I can only hope).

Get some relaxation in before tomorrow sets my friends 😜

Weekend Revival

Hello friends!

So this weekend I got to lay in bed after six am twice!! I think it’s so peaceful to wake up naturally:) (granted I did wake up sweating at 1am but I’m pretty sure that had to do with yesterday being the hottest day so far (freaking AC is not on) and NOT me waking naturally LOL).

Even though I was very busy yesterday: grandson basketball game, lunch with kids, grocery shopping, wash car, organizing my pantry and putting in shelves, laundry mat to wash huge mattress pad and pillows, but at the end of the day I felt very accomplished (Celebrated by watching 2nd Avengers!) I even found time to discover a new pair of fringe sandals and circle bag at Target (while looking for shelves!) so I really think as I accomplished stuff on my list, I gradually de stressed and was able to find something cute!!

What a great weekend! (I hope your weekend was lovely too and thanks so much for reading my random weekly thoughts!)

Shopping blues

Hello friends!

I’ve had a weird experience lately, I’ll cal it the shopping blues.

I went to Marshall’s, JCPenney, Target, and Old Navy and only found one blouse that I really liked. I got the one at OldNavy but sheesh am I depressed?? Really only find one thing to buy?

Granted I didn’t hit H&M or Ann Taylor but not a ton of time as I had an eye appointment yesterday after I got off work. Maybe I wasn’t really putting my whole effort into the experience?

Sometimes that happens to me and I think maybe I’m overwhelmed with work and need to watch some movies, go for a walk, get my toe nails done, play with grandkids, chat with friends, more movies, sleep in, garden, (maybe do my laundry and clean- not necessarily) -that’s my plan of self care and I think I’ll be back online shopping in no time 😜

Summertime

Hello friends!!

How is everyone this fine Saturday?? I’m having a lovely four day weekend with my hubby! We drove to St George Utah for our anniversary and are just hanging out, visiting Zion National Park, went to a concert at Tuacahn (David Archuleta!) and are having a good time 😍

Yesterday before the concert we drove to Zion National Park and hiked a couple trails- (at one point we passed a couple girls taking selfies and one said to the other- “that shows your chubby arms”?? as I walked by them I told her”you do not have chubby arms”!-be positive about your body friends!) seriously people I’m in heaven -it was gorgeous! I’ll add some pictures!

Anyway we got to the concert; before it started we discussed what to do the next day and I want to do more hiking- hubs does not and I ask him “do u want to live”?? At our age (hubs is older than me) we need to keep active so I figure I’m extending and improving his quality of life by making him hike when he would rather sit! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ oh my goodness!

So at Tuacahn we saw David Archuleta and I had so much fun! He really has a beautiful voice; he did some of his new album “Postcards in the Sky” some of his older songs, a medley of “Greatest Show”, a song from Lion King II, “If I Could Only Imagine”-originally by Mercy Me and it was a wonderful concert (thanks to my son Connor for tickets!)

Today we are headed back to Zion, do some more hiking, get some grub, stop and visit family, and then maybe hang out at the pool.

It’s a beautiful morning friends! Have a great weekend!

Week full of tripping

Hello friends!

I told you I would update on my trip to my clients service.

My trip started at 130 am… wait what?? Yes I accidentally woke at 130 and finally just dragged myself out of bed at 145. I figured it was hopeless to try for 15 more minutes of sleep and actually I’m glad I did cause I’m a little of an early bird so those extra few minutes made me very calm.

I fell asleep on the plane; let’s face it, it was dark, quiet, and the buzz of the engines just pulled me right to sleep 😴 I’m pretty sure my mouth was open, I sleep with my mouth open, I could in theory catch bugs. I was rudely awakened when someone’s phone went off! I actually dreamt I was at home and slept through my alarm so I woke freaking out! (Luckily I did not wake my neighbor lol)

I even got to the rental car company without (don’t think so) looking as if I had no clue what I was doing! That’s a win win!

Then I plugged the Church or Cathedral address into my google map on my phone and off I went (stopping off at a luckily found Denny’s for breakfast as I was starving! Seriously who wants to eat breakfast at 3 am?? Wasn’t feeling it) then back on the road… but as I entered the chapel it did not appear as if prepared for a service. It looked like an ordinary day…? Help

Yes I went to the wrong church, apparently two have the exact same name but in different cities …so I had to high tail it out of there and hopefully make it on time! Thank goodness I did, I think it meant a lot to the parents that I was there, they seemed comforted and I got to hear lots of wonderful memories of my client throughout the day. It was a beautiful day, I was exhausted but it was a beautiful day.

I did try to go shopping afterwards and found the “most noted” mall in that particular city but by the time I drove around downtown looking for parking I figured I would not have enough time to make it back to the rental car and airport before my flight so I did not shop- I know, sad huh. Although I did see a great deal of said city and really enjoyed driving into these tall tall skyscrapers that I hadn’t seen before! I felt brave and accomplished going on this trip and renting a car all on my own -I am woman – ❀️

I got back home pretty tired, you can see by the pic I took at airport I’m dragging a little. But made it home, yay!

Now tomorrow me and hubs are going on a road trip for our anniversary! We hope to relax and go hiking, catch a movie, see a concert, lay by the pool and just chill. I’m super stoked to be going on another trip for a four day weekend! Here are pics of a couple outfits I’m packing because they’re so summery! Got them both at Target.

I just want to thank you, my friend. Thanks for reading! I sure appreciate all the support you give me by reading my blog, it means a lot. Have a great Thursday (tomorrow)!

Saturday Makeover Fun

Hello Friends!

How is everyone doing on this fine rainy cloudy gray Saturday?? I know it’s kind of a yucky weather day right?? I love Saturdays and didn’t have much on my “to do” list today except a couple loads of wash, which I almost do with my eyes closed LOL

I laid in bed as long as I could; I actually woke at 7:30am…yuk right?? But I laid there for another 40 minutes or so and then got up. Then I thought I could do some fun self care!

I put on a special exfoliating mask from Elemis: Papaya Enzyme Peel and wandered around the house; fixed my favorite coconut/cacao shake and loaded the dishwasher. Then I made an instastories live video about my skin care routine. Check on Instagram, I hope you like it.

Then I had some fun with different eye colors! I will explain!

Awhile ago I bought Stila Magnificient Metals liquid eye shadow in Sunset Cove; it’s a pretty pink shadow but until today I hadn’t got a chance to figure out how to wear pink on my eyelids! ha! Now is my chance!

Last year I got a free gift from Ulta: a NYX “Happy Birthday” eye shadow palette that I haven’t as yet used very much, the colors are bright.

This week I also went to Ulta to pick up some lashes, I use fake glue on lashes daily and my regular supermarket has been out for awhile. Ulta had bogo 50% off so I grabbed a couple packs, only to get home and realize one of the lash packs was the fullest, longest lashes I had ever seen! How am I gonna wear that on a daily basis! LOL I don’t go out an party so figure that one out! (But here comes Saturday and you know I can do what I want πŸ˜‰

I put the Sunset Cove on my lids and an orange color in the crease and above my lid. I then used just an ivory under my brows. I didn’t put eye liner on today because I’m trying to highlight the fancy eye color and lashes! (Plus it’s a rainy day and I put my hair up, so focusing on my eyes is only logical-I totally think like a Vulcan right??)

I then glued on these huge, full, long fancy eye lashes, put on thicker lower lash mascara (I really think my lower lashes are longer than my upper lashes, how that happen really??-who else thinks eyelashes are generally unfair in life?)

Then I added a matte pink lipstick someone gave me for ordering LuLaRoe…it looks Tarte brand. I include a picture.

And there ya go! I have pink and orange eyes today, and I’ve got to say I love it and it’s super fun to dress up my eyes when it’s a dingy day! I totally cheered myself up by doing something different and spent time on myself today, I really needed that, my work week was brutal guys, really difficult ….I feel so much better

Have a great Saturday everyone!
