New Year Renewal

Hello friends!

Happy New Years Eve!

I hope you are all ready for 2019! How did the year go by so quickly??

I’m happy for a new year; it’s like a fresh start (and of course then there is spring {after snow melts in a couple months}and everything in the earth is new too)! I love renewal and fresh starts!

I’m happy for all I learned in 2018; I benefited from training in two interventions (DBT PE and EMDR) to help my clients with trauma and that is amazing! I love to help my clients.

I also got to spend a lot of time with my family and hubs which I love! I decided to spend more time with my grandkids this year, I will set aside every other Saturday to play with them. I’ve been normally very protective of my Saturday’s as it feels like my recharge day from work but I realized time with the grandkids does the same thing for me ❤️ plus they’re so freakin cute! And they each let me kiss them to pieces! They’re so sweet to their grandma! On Christmas Day, the three year old almost choked me out saying “I’m giving you big hugs grandma”! He’s so cute! (And very 💪😂)

I need to think of fun activities to do with a 8, 7, 4, and 3 year old that doesn’t wear me out but they love. If you have ideas, pass them on to me ❤️

That’s my goal for this year! Have more fun with my family! I think I can definitely do that ❤️❤️

I hope all of you as my wonderful readers get to discover the many blessings of 2018 and a renewed sense of joy anticipating 2019. I wish you and yours a wonderful New Year. Thanks for reading friends!

Couch Potato Plan

Hello friends!

How are you all this wonderful Wednesday?? I’m so glad the week is half over. I’m telling you my training was tough tough tough. It’s the most difficult thing I’ve done for years!

We spent the whole training in silence which was not as difficult as spending (25) 25 minute meditation-which means I sat on a chair with a straight posture, my feet flat on the floor and my hands resting on my knees without moving. (Some people sat on cushions with their legs crossed but baby my knees are at a age that I cannot sit cross legged anymore LOL) So I sat on a chair. It was so hard! But I made it through and am very proud of myself.

We did this training on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound outside of Seattle Washington and oh my gosh it’s such a pretty area. The smells of the forest around us was AMAZING! I couldn’t figure out what smelled so good until a co worker, born and raised in Washington told me it was the redwood trees, cedar smell. Friends, I’ve never been so in love with trees before. OH MY GOSH it was so beautiful, so that helped to balance out the HARD.

But last night as I got home from work, I had no desire to do anything but lay on the couch, (I was so tired) cue up my new Jurassic World movie and eat Thai food. That was my couch potato plan and I enjoyed it!

Enjoy the pictures I’m adding of the area around The Whidbey Institute. It’s a gorgeous place. I’m also adding pictures of the cabin we stayed.

Fashion Addicted Self Care

Hey friends!

How was your Monday? Glad it’s over??? Me too LOL

Last week I took a values assessment (work related) and I discovered in four values areas: work, relationships, leisure, and personal growth-health that I am lacking in the leisure area. Who knew??

I graded myself two dots away from “bullseye” in work and relationships but then realized I work pretty hard and am dedicated- along with being connected in the vital relationships in my life- so I thought that might be a judgement of myself.

I graded two dots away from bullseye in personal growth/health because of my nasty fall on my bicycle that still gives me a little grief (my knees at times), but I realized I was quite farther off the leisure bullseye so I committed to do several things this week: read for personal enjoyment, scrapbook a couple of pages, load some pictures and articles on my family history site and in those ways find more creativity and relaxation than I have lately.

Guess what books I got….

friends I’m so excited! Devil Wore Prada is one of my favorite movies so I got almost halfway done with the book today! It’s such fun! I loved the comedy, the actors, the lines, and ooh baby- the clothes. I snagged Chasing Harry Winston just because it’s by the same author, I’ll let you know what I think!

I saw Oceans 8 the day it came out and my favorite thing was the clothes. I notice clothes a lot in movies. I’m just a fashion addict doing some self care that doesn’t have anything to do with fashion………LOL

Thanks for reading friends ❤️

Destroy an Ugly Car!

Hello friends!

I’m in the middle of a relaxing evening and hubs wants to watch a James Bond movie.

I’m always down for Bond; and we started Quantom of Solace. (I love Sean Connery although I think Daniel Craig is best bond evaa).

One thing I notice as the movie starts, DANG IT! THEYRE DESTROYING ANOTHER GORGEOUS CAR! Seriously how many Aston Martin automobiles must die in the name of Bond??

Couldn’t we just sacrifice a Pinto or a Nova or (LOL) a Prius?? Why can’t the pretty cars be safe??

I really like cars; did I mention that?? Just not a Prius 😂 (I would be giddy if a Prius was trashed in a Bond movie. I can only hope).

Get some relaxation in before tomorrow sets my friends 😜

Weekend Revival

Hello friends!

So this weekend I got to lay in bed after six am twice!! I think it’s so peaceful to wake up naturally:) (granted I did wake up sweating at 1am but I’m pretty sure that had to do with yesterday being the hottest day so far (freaking AC is not on) and NOT me waking naturally LOL).

Even though I was very busy yesterday: grandson basketball game, lunch with kids, grocery shopping, wash car, organizing my pantry and putting in shelves, laundry mat to wash huge mattress pad and pillows, but at the end of the day I felt very accomplished (Celebrated by watching 2nd Avengers!) I even found time to discover a new pair of fringe sandals and circle bag at Target (while looking for shelves!) so I really think as I accomplished stuff on my list, I gradually de stressed and was able to find something cute!!

What a great weekend! (I hope your weekend was lovely too and thanks so much for reading my random weekly thoughts!)

Shopping blues

Hello friends!

I’ve had a weird experience lately, I’ll cal it the shopping blues.

I went to Marshall’s, JCPenney, Target, and Old Navy and only found one blouse that I really liked. I got the one at OldNavy but sheesh am I depressed?? Really only find one thing to buy?

Granted I didn’t hit H&M or Ann Taylor but not a ton of time as I had an eye appointment yesterday after I got off work. Maybe I wasn’t really putting my whole effort into the experience?

Sometimes that happens to me and I think maybe I’m overwhelmed with work and need to watch some movies, go for a walk, get my toe nails done, play with grandkids, chat with friends, more movies, sleep in, garden, (maybe do my laundry and clean- not necessarily) -that’s my plan of self care and I think I’ll be back online shopping in no time 😜
