Hello Friends and happy Monday!
I’m done venting about my travel fails and on this Monday back to fashion blogging LOL!
I’ve noticed a lot of different animal prints are on the runway, in magazines, and on the sidewalk lately. I’ve added to my animal print collection in a few different ways.
I discovered two fun new pieces from Target the last two weeks. The first one is a leopard print jumper! It’s such a great piece and I wore it with my white sneakers on my fated flight to North Carolina last week, but don’t hold that against this cute jumper. It’s easy on/easy off, has a little stretch to the material, and zips up the front. It’s a super cute addition to your wardrobe at a great price-$30 ordered online.
My next piece is a darling faux fur leopard bag with gold metal handles. I discovered it in a North Carolina Target- (on a trip for essentials, doesn’t that always happen when traveling??) and I can’t wait to use it. It would be so cute with a floral top/distressed jeans or a floral dress with fun heels. I even think it would be gorgeous with my yellow suit! I’ll take pictures of some examples and add them to this post.
Don’t be afraid of leopard. It’s one trend that has been steady for years and years. Get yourself some pieces and have fun!
Hello friends and happy weekend!
It’s been a few days since I posted; I have no excuse for myself! Lol! (I will do better I promise)!
I thought I would share how I mix patterns!
Here I’m wearing a striped burgundy blouse and a leopard vest. Some people in the past might not think it matches but it anymore! You can match almost anything! It’s important to remember that some prints can be used as neutrals; leopard and camo print are such fun and you can match them with other fun prints!
So first: the background of my striped shirt is white-the backgrounders of my vest is white and that makes them perfect to match. I added my burgundy pants and white boots to go along with the blouse and vest.
Some leopard prints have a gold background and some have a black background so do a little experimenting with your prints.
I love to match leopard with green, pink, red, burgundy, and black patterns of solids. Pops of color will really add to your wardrobe!
I also love camo print and it goes so well with red, pink, black, tan, forest green, and brown (all of these could be a print -I love pink prints with camo-it’s darling).
Florals, plaids, and stripes are all fun prints to combine as long as you stick to similar shades. Don’t be afraid to try something yourself.
Hello friends and happy weekend! Thank goodness we made it through the work week right??
Today I’m sharing how easy it is to be trendy and chic on a budget. When I say budget, I normally mean 40% off at JCPenney or 25% off Cartwheel app at Target or rewards from OldNavy cutting the price of a gorgeous coat to $10. This is my budget definition 😊 I love to get something fun and trendy for a great price!
Recently I found a gorgeous pair of pants at Target-Universal Thread that are a deep wine color- on sale -bogo 50% off. I also found a cute print top with a fun neckline and sleeves at JCPenney for 40% off. I combined these two things with last fall’s plaid jacket (also Target-WhoWhatWear and I believe on sale when I purchased) and my last year white boots from Charlotte Russe online-they were $20 and I’ve worn them tons of times.
Some people think you have to spend a lot of money to be on trend but these stores I’ve mentioned almost always have what I’m looking for -for the best price!
Next post I’ll share my $10 coat from OldNavy !
Happy Monday! I thought to give a short update on my plaid outfit with one of the variations. I wore my plaid pants with the burgundy striped blouse (Both from H&M) and I think it turned out very fun! I added my studded sandals from Forever 21 and my circle bag/fringe earrings from Target.
Today is a fall theme outfit but it’s also an affordable outfit! When the weather is cooler, I’ll add a moto jacket and the faux fur loafers (you know that’s gonna be super fun!)
Try this trend out for yourself 🙂
Happy Thursday and almost Friday! (am I getting ahead of myself??) You guys know I love me a weekend (I won’t have a weekend this week cause I have a work training but that is another post full of my thoughts LOL)
You all know I’m a stalker of all things fashion and that includes NYFW (New York Fashion Week). It’s such a cool time to see what new trends are out there and what I have in my closet that is similar. I think that is a fun adventure!
I follow WhoWhatWear on IG and during Fashion Week, one of their editors (?) Kat Collins was all dressed up and going to some event. I thought her look darling and l looked up the pants she wore and they are from Shopbop for $750…yes $750 dollars for a pair of pants….Whoa, that’s like a house payment! Sheesh, I aint got that kind of money for a pair of pants and if I did, should I pay that much for a pair of pants??
So anyway, I thought, well I can copy her look (sort of) without spending that much and make it lots of fun right??
I first started with a pair of leggings I purchased in January from Rue21 on clearance for I think $10 (honestly that’s more my speed), and I tried to figure out what kind of top to pair with it…her sweater has some fun details although just gray. I eventually discovered an old LulaRoe shirt in a gray/white print that I thought looked amazing with these pants (had some personality) except structure of the shirt is LulaRoe; it’s kind of baggy and ties in the front. I needed my shirt to be more fitted and shorter. So I got out my 36 year old sewing machine at 7:45 am to try some alterations by 8:30am… (you can already see my problem)
I took in both sides of the shirt and attempted to hem it, although my machine keeps clogging up and knotting underneath, possibly some mechanical malfunction because I re threaded it several times, got a new needle, etc but no go. Needless to say, I still went to work because I AM NOT A QUITTER! LOL
So I paired my $10 leggings with an old Lularoe shirt, some bejeweled velvet mules from Target and my black circle bag. Oh I also wore my wayyyy tassel red earrings along with bold eye makeup and bold red lips! I do not do things half way!
I’m attaching pictures of the original outfit and then mine. Hopefully you can see ways to incorporate runway trends at home (by the way, I’m still looking for a bedazzled black drawstring purse just to up my game) Happy weekend friends!
Even on Monday I somehow manage to feel happy! For the first time in about three weeks, I’m caught up on my paperwork at my paid job! That’s crazy right?? But to be honest, I’ve had two trainings during that time along with a holiday and I’ve been drowning (metaphorically) most of the time but NOT TODAY!
Today I am caught up (happy happy joy joy) and can now focus on other things 😉 such as my blog! LOL
I don’t know why but mixing patterns seems to just give me joy! I found this sweater, (yes it is a sweater, I wore to church yesterday and felt like I was having hot flashes…maybe I was but it’s a warm top- not for summer- it’s not online anymore 😢)at H&M, sometimes the cutest brightest colors are there or Zara (I love these bright colors, especially RED) and the skirt is last winter, ok maybe April but not now. I thought pairing them together is so fun! They have similar colors, red and black and for some reason the red goes perfectly with the blue which I can’t really explain (blue is the color of a college team I do not like-so I have some kind of emotion block in that area!) Then I used my white boots from Charlotte Russe (online) and white earrings from Target-Sugar Fix to calm down all the red. Now just to further complicate things, I wore my purple lip color from Sephora-Anastasi- in Rage because red+blue=purple right?? It’s totally logical and elementary my dear.
Give pattern mixing a shot, you might find you have some great fun with it!
I was going to say happy weekend but today is Sunday and it’s almost over 😕 the weekends go by so quickly don’t you think??
Anyway I wanted to share excitement from Thursday! While waiting for a co worker to finish up (I waited to visit her new home!) I wandered to Fashion Place Mall- exchanged my top at Nordstrom, browsed through H&M, and then wandered through Zara. To my surprise I discovered a wonderful orange striped (gathered or rouched) dress that has some gold threads in it too! The rouching is on one side of the dress which makes one appear very curvy when wearing. It was only $12!! What a deal! And I tried it on and fit!
I also found a sweet clutch type bag with a shoulder strap – only this girl (bag) is leather looking snake print with some turquoise shades! It’s amazing looking, hard to describe! That clutch is $29 but marked down quite a bit (since snakeprint is so hot right now I couldn’t resist the fun)!
I got up to the checkout and the girl said how gorgeous the dress and bag are together and asked where I’m going “out”- as in somewhere elegant. Haha I said I don’t really go “out” but might wear to work or church 😂 she looked at me kinda odd but whatever right!!?
So my friends, next time you need a deal- visit the Zara clearance section and you won’t be disappointed!
