I took a break from work for a few days and took a much needed road trip but now I’m back!
Before my days off, (exactly four days before) I was pulled over by one of our finest police officers due to a confusion about my speed in a school zone. Confusion because I was sure I had not been speeding and he said “I clocked you at 26” and laughed 😂😂
I didn’t really think it was THAT funny- my life has been difficult lately (although I didn’t think I was particularly mournful that morning) so without a word I gave him my registration and license while waiting for the bad news 😳😥
He came back to my car reassuring me…? “Now Ms (F) this is just a warning, you don’t have to do anything” (a warning? I’m confused) and he continued “you don’t need to do anything, just be careful and try to have a better day” he said very kindly.
I’m still confused and a little shell shocked- what happened that he just gave me a warning? I actually have never got a warning before- I usually deserve the speeding tickets I’ve got (6 years ago was the last time) but I didn’t cry or anything?
But I’m grateful that someone somewhere knew I needed a break or a warning or just a kind word. Thank you kind police officer.
Just to make sure I’m not looking overly haggard or pitiful, I bought some under eye concealer cause sometimes you just need to look like EVERYTHING IS FINE 😊
Enclosed are two different pictures of me with “Bye Bye Undereye” concealer from IT Cosmetics.
Hello friends and happy New Year’s Eve! Here is an easy and festive eyeshadow look for your fun tonight using Anastasia Norvina palette.
I’ve been conflicted lately! I love Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette, but struggle using the other colors besides my four go to colors: bootycall, tease, snakebite, and half baked. These are all great, amazing, and flattering colors BUT I want to make use of the rest of the palette. It’s a pretty penny to use only four out of 12 colors. I mean REALLY!
So…in getting ready for my Halloween Morticia makeup, I discovered a smoky eye I can use three more colors on my Naked 2 palette! Yay! I use foxy on my lid, pistol on the crease and brow bone and black out in a “V” at the corner of my eye (pistol and blackout also under my eye).
But to give you the whole experience, I’m linking my YouTube video of the tutorial for all to see what I did and you too can use up more Naked 2 colors! It’s a win win!

Naked 2 tutorial
Happy Thursday and almost Friday! (am I getting ahead of myself??) You guys know I love me a weekend (I won’t have a weekend this week cause I have a work training but that is another post full of my thoughts LOL)
You all know I’m a stalker of all things fashion and that includes NYFW (New York Fashion Week). It’s such a cool time to see what new trends are out there and what I have in my closet that is similar. I think that is a fun adventure!
I follow WhoWhatWear on IG and during Fashion Week, one of their editors (?) Kat Collins was all dressed up and going to some event. I thought her look darling and l looked up the pants she wore and they are from Shopbop for $750…yes $750 dollars for a pair of pants….Whoa, that’s like a house payment! Sheesh, I aint got that kind of money for a pair of pants and if I did, should I pay that much for a pair of pants??
So anyway, I thought, well I can copy her look (sort of) without spending that much and make it lots of fun right??
I first started with a pair of leggings I purchased in January from Rue21 on clearance for I think $10 (honestly that’s more my speed), and I tried to figure out what kind of top to pair with it…her sweater has some fun details although just gray. I eventually discovered an old LulaRoe shirt in a gray/white print that I thought looked amazing with these pants (had some personality) except structure of the shirt is LulaRoe; it’s kind of baggy and ties in the front. I needed my shirt to be more fitted and shorter. So I got out my 36 year old sewing machine at 7:45 am to try some alterations by 8:30am… (you can already see my problem)
I took in both sides of the shirt and attempted to hem it, although my machine keeps clogging up and knotting underneath, possibly some mechanical malfunction because I re threaded it several times, got a new needle, etc but no go. Needless to say, I still went to work because I AM NOT A QUITTER! LOL
So I paired my $10 leggings with an old Lularoe shirt, some bejeweled velvet mules from Target and my black circle bag. Oh I also wore my wayyyy tassel red earrings along with bold eye makeup and bold red lips! I do not do things half way!
I’m attaching pictures of the original outfit and then mine. Hopefully you can see ways to incorporate runway trends at home (by the way, I’m still looking for a bedazzled black drawstring purse just to up my game) Happy weekend friends!
On this lazy Sunday I thought I would share my morning of experimenting with makeup!
A month or so ago, I got a new palette from Ulta-Urban Decay- Beached compact. It’s some really bright sandy, coral, and turquoise shades. It’s super pretty.
Then about a week ago, I saw an ad on IG for makeup but the colors were similar to my new compact so I thought I would experiment and see what happened.
Here are several videos of the look. Hope you like!
Happy Friday and weekend! I wonder if any of you have sweet plans this weekend? I’m on call, so I’m staying close to my cell phone but hopefully things will be smooth 😉
Yesterday I WAS NOT ON CALL, so me and hubs lived it up with some of our married children and grandchildren! Our married son and daughter in law gave hubs an evening of bowling and so that’s how our fun started out! There were six of us in total, and I ended up winning (121)- still not a great score but it’s better than I did last time so that’s good!
Then we ate at Costa Vida which has a location right at the bowling alley. After that the little kids were getting pretty tired and they called it a night but I talked hubs into taking me to a movie! Jurassic World! Whee! (I didn’t like it as much as the previous Jurassic Park movie but really I got out and did something so that’s most important 😉
Although we had some struggles in the parking lot! We couldn’t find anywhere to park and so I suggested hubs drop me off and I would check in on our MoviePass app with both our phones….interestingly enough after I got out of the car I realized I left my phone in the car but spent the next ten minutes chasing after hubs car in the parking lot but he never did see me! He is driving away and I’m running behind him trying to catch him….he didn’t see me and turned down another lane, I went through cards and tried to get his attention but he didn’t see me again and this happened about four more times until he parked! Picture this woman running up and down the parking lot waving her hands and yelling! Yeah that was me! Hubs needs a new windshield if he can’t see me chasing after him! LOL
Running through the parking lot, I blended in with the asphalt with my black/white/gray/edgy outfit! It’s my high waist-wide leg striped pants by Express, my graphic Beatles Tee, my gray mini shoulder bag, and my white wedge sandals by JCPenney (at the movie theatre I had changed into flip flops-thus I could run hahaha and I got about 1000 steps so there’s that) and a new edgy eye shadow look inspired by an advertisement I saw on Instagram!
Hope your weekend is wonderful friends!
High Waisted Striped Cropped Pants
A couple months ago I accidentally bought (at Ulta) the longest lashes I have ever seen. I thought there was no way I would ever wear them. (There was a special going on- buy one get one 50% off so I thought I got two of the same size as one was behind the other on the hook).
Today after spending hours-seriously hours doing my second unpaid job as a landscaper (really it’s my own yard LOL) I realized I needed to feel elegant after digging in the dirt all day.
So I wore the LONG lashes. Yes I felt elegant. And it’s only a Saturday that I’m spending my time now getting groceries. But what does it matter? I have long lashes and red lipstick- I can do what I want LOL! Happy Saturday friends!
