Hello friends and Happy Wednesday!
I was thinking of all the bright colors in my closet this spring and had a little giggle reflecting back to the movie “Devil Wore Prada”- “florals for spring? Groundbreaking”! LOL! I think spring is always full of bright, fun colors but for some reason I’m really rocking them (no matter what Miranda Priestly says- I don’t need her permission, I don’t work for her!)
So I thought I would share two of this week’s fun bright spring looks that I love (closet shopping win)!
First I couldn’t resist going all purple/pink on Monday! Seriously, who can resist such fun colors! Purple is actually my favorite color (I might not own enough purple items, that’s something I would love to fix). I wore pink slacks with a pink/blue/purple plaid blouse from JCPenney along with my purple Walmart espadrilles and a super cute lavender bag I snagged from Target. (All of these items are budget friendly-my JCPenney shopping usually involves a discount or coupon and obviously my Walmart shoes are not breaking the bank 😉
I LOVED LOVED being all pink and purple…I think I was more cheerful and pleasant (ok the sun was shining too) but color really seems to make me happy.
Then yesterday I had to wear more COLOR! Specifically I wore my bright poppin yellow slack, a floral/striped blouse, my super cute yellow polka dot kitten heels and a bold pink bag! I was feeling very bright and happy! My slacks, blouse, and bag are all JCPenney (bag and blouse are old) and my heels are a special find from DSW about a month ago. So far I’m trying to wear them as often as possible as they are so super cute and very comfy.
I hope these colorful looks are inspiring to you and give you the courage to try something fun for yourself. Don’t be afraid to wear what you want. You might inspire someone else too!

How are you all today? I hope you are staying warm! It was 16 degrees here yesterday! Brrrrrrrr…..
I discovered more ways to shop my closet-actually close to the same outfit but for two events. One is a Sunday outfit and the other I wore to work.
Sunday I wore my blue/cream striped shirt from Oldnavy, my lavender cardigan from Target, a black patterned skirt from Macy’s, and OTK boots also from Macys. I added a purple necklace from Chicos. The OTK boots kept me warm at church and I think it’s a fun look from my closet.
The very next day (yes I wear the same clothes twice in a row! LOL Sometimes it’s just too fun to change!) I wore my blue striped top again, my lavender cardigan, but added a blue/purple patterned scarf from Target, destroyed girlfriend jeans from Express, and my snakeprint boots from Target. AND I couldn’t resist wearing purple lipstick!
I had so much fun with the basic shirt and cardigan! Blue and purple are such fun color pairs! It’s important to remember art class when creating outfits. Purple is a combination of blue and red, so blue and purple will always compliment each other! Plus purple is my favorite color….you might notice that from my logo 🙂
I hope you enjoyed another installment of shopping my closet! Stay tuned for more and Happy Hump Day friends!
How is everyone doing this week? I have to say I’m enjoying the (sometimes) sunshine I get every once in a while! It’s better than nothing right? I liked it so much I drove through a car wash and when I got home, I rubbed down the inside of my car with armor all (sp?) and leather cleaning wipes! (Now my butt slips when I get in, but my life isn’t in too much danger right??) Sometimes, well just a couple times, I have got in my car and accidentally mashed my knee against the steering column!! Seriously painful and (I had a black and blue bump on my leg) when my husband asked, I really don’t have any idea how that happens. I’ve done it a few times to be honest, I’m pretty sure the column stays put. Anyway….my car is clean 🙂 yay! I don’t like driving a dirty car, I might have some OCD tendencies….LOL
I frequently have the desire to change up my outfit game! I don’t like wearing the same thing over again, but it’s not reasonable to NEVER wear the same clothes. I just don’t have the budget for that. What I do like to do is wear things differently or mash up items I haven’t before. I think that is super fun!
The last couple days I’ve done just that!
Yesterday I wanted to wear my sequin leggings (Express) again but let’s face it, it’s not December or New Years Eve…I want to keep wearing my sequined items or sparkle even when the holidays are over! I want what I want 😉
So I paired my leggings with a simple black T, my black/white patterned converse, and a terribly fun distressed jean jacket (Forever 21). I figure that the converse and distressed jacket balance out the bling of the leggings so it looks like something anyone would wear! I enclose pics of course!
Then today I just want spring to be here so bad and really wanted to wear my lilac cardigan (Target-ANewDay-spring color but with warmth for Utah’s spring weather, haha) and tried something really new for me. I paired it with my ruffled, blue (almost periwinkle) striped blouse (Target, WhoWhatWear) with my embroidered jeans (Express) and white boots. I figure that lavender/purple is made by mixing blue and red which makes sense the blue in jeans, blue in shirt, and red on flowers on jeans….interesting that all these items work so well together! Also the ruffle on the shirt sticks out of the cardigan making it attention getting (and is sort of like a flower blooming) which is fun and seems like spring!
Let me know what you think of my combinations and have a great day! I hope it’s spring where you’re at!
Hello friends and happy Tuesday (almost Wednesday for some of you!)
This morning I had a hard time getting up, seriously I’m not sure I actually fell asleep til after 3am…that’s when I looked at the clock to be able to prove I was having a hard time sleeping! Does anyone else do that? If I’m feeling like I’m tossing and turning, I look at the clock to “prove” that I’m not asleep. If I’m not awake enough to look at the clock, we (me, myself, and I) know sleeping is good. I know, it’s odd…:) anyway I had a hard time getting out of bed. We’ve already established that LOL
But as I got dressed, I decided to wear something spring-ee and it’s somewhat of a different combination for me. I’m wearing white skinny jeans and white tee both JCPenney and a lavender cardigan from Express along with my white snake pattern flip flops (don’t even recall where I got these things)….It’s a spring look which I felt like doing and white sometimes makes me look like I’m awake lol so maybe that’s another reason.
But as I got in my car to leave the house, I’m thinking to myself…wow it’s 15 degrees warmer than it was last week at this time (even though it’s super cloudy), my outfit totally works for today 🙂 I love when this happens! (Sometimes I dress for weather that was only in my mind! LOL!
(Something sad about this morning: I drove to take pictures at a neat fuschia wall/building here in my city and got there, realizing the WHOLE building has been torn down and replaced with four (seven story)(? that many) apartment buildings?? When did that happen? How did I not know?…so pictures are at one of my regular back drops)
Anyway, catch up to me leaving work and the temperature is 69 degrees! Whaaaaat?? Holy mother of pearl! All of a sudden either I moved to Arizona or spring is here! I love it!
My dad had a poem I’ll share with you (he passed away 33 years ago):
Spring is sprung
The grass is rized
I wonder where the flowers is 🙂
Sharing my spring outfit pictures with you! Have a happy day friends!
