Hello Friends and Happy Friday!
Yay! We made it to Friday (thank goodness right??)
I have a jumper that I love! I got it from Target (of course right?), it’s a super cute material (gray and white stripes) and style…there’s just one problem 🙂
Jumpers have this typical challenge: one must completely undress to pee! Seriously it’s a huge deal! Plus my shoulders are a little bit wider and I feel like I’m gonna dislocate something trying to get it off, contorting my body in ways that are alarming! Yet I continue to wear my darling jumper cause it’s so cute!
I’ll let you know when my shoulder pops off! LOL
How is everyone doing this week? I have to say I’m enjoying the (sometimes) sunshine I get every once in a while! It’s better than nothing right? I liked it so much I drove through a car wash and when I got home, I rubbed down the inside of my car with armor all (sp?) and leather cleaning wipes! (Now my butt slips when I get in, but my life isn’t in too much danger right??) Sometimes, well just a couple times, I have got in my car and accidentally mashed my knee against the steering column!! Seriously painful and (I had a black and blue bump on my leg) when my husband asked, I really don’t have any idea how that happens. I’ve done it a few times to be honest, I’m pretty sure the column stays put. Anyway….my car is clean 🙂 yay! I don’t like driving a dirty car, I might have some OCD tendencies….LOL
I frequently have the desire to change up my outfit game! I don’t like wearing the same thing over again, but it’s not reasonable to NEVER wear the same clothes. I just don’t have the budget for that. What I do like to do is wear things differently or mash up items I haven’t before. I think that is super fun!
The last couple days I’ve done just that!
Yesterday I wanted to wear my sequin leggings (Express) again but let’s face it, it’s not December or New Years Eve…I want to keep wearing my sequined items or sparkle even when the holidays are over! I want what I want 😉
So I paired my leggings with a simple black T, my black/white patterned converse, and a terribly fun distressed jean jacket (Forever 21). I figure that the converse and distressed jacket balance out the bling of the leggings so it looks like something anyone would wear! I enclose pics of course!
Then today I just want spring to be here so bad and really wanted to wear my lilac cardigan (Target-ANewDay-spring color but with warmth for Utah’s spring weather, haha) and tried something really new for me. I paired it with my ruffled, blue (almost periwinkle) striped blouse (Target, WhoWhatWear) with my embroidered jeans (Express) and white boots. I figure that lavender/purple is made by mixing blue and red which makes sense the blue in jeans, blue in shirt, and red on flowers on jeans….interesting that all these items work so well together! Also the ruffle on the shirt sticks out of the cardigan making it attention getting (and is sort of like a flower blooming) which is fun and seems like spring!

So I got a set of DVD’s for Christmas; T25 BeachBody work out and some workout clothes from OldNavy. I used the first DVD this morning, the Cardio workout…I was super pumped…for a couple minutes. Then I got sweaty and tired and somewhat confused about the direction to kick my foot! haha I will not give up!
The cardio workout has a couple of tricky steps and I have to tell you, I’m not super coordinated. A couple months ago, I participated in a neighborhood Zumba class directed by a good friend about 30 years older and more coordinated than I. She kicked butt and I moved the wrong direction several times in five minutes.
The last ten years I’ve weightlifted on and off (shoulder injuries and health problems in general interrupted at times) but I don’t have to be coordinated at all to be able to weight lift. I want to be one of those older ladies that can still walk when I’m 90 years old, so I will persevere in my workouts!
My grandpa turned 96 a few short weeks ago and he’s still moving around…the key is staying active when you don’t have to….going up and down the stairs when there’s an elevator, walking up the escalator; even forgetting something upstairs at home is not a bad thing because I can run up and downstairs as many times as I forget something (which is often, FYI)
So I thought I’d share my daily experience getting back into an exercise routine and my workout clothes from Old Navy. The cross cross ankle detail on these pants is super fun (Fashion can motivate me to exercise don’t ya know!) if there are any of you thinking of getting more active, there is never a bad time to get moving! Let me know if you want my support or encouragement! It’s never too late to get moving and get your heart muscle beating regularly 🙂 Even if you are coordinated or not! Join my un-coordinated club! 😉
