Bad January

Oh my gosh friends!

I just realized I haven’t posted for almost a week! Wow, time flies when I’m busy! I hope everyone is doing well; I’m looking forward to January ending I’ve gotta admit. It’s not my favorite month.

Poor January, it’s like the Monday of the whole year!

At least living in Utah it feels like that; snow, inversion, slick roads, no sunshine ever, and super low temps so most nights I’m afraid my pipes will freeze (like 10 degrees and lower)

But yesterday and today we’ve had sunshine and I’m hopeful that good weather is possible at some point in the future. Maybe not near future ๐Ÿ˜‚ but sometime! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

And that reminds me, Groundhog Day is approaching. Do you think we’ll have six more weeks of winter? (In all honesty, the first day of Spring on the calendar is March 20th right??) just plan on spring around that time and you won’t be disappointed (sometimes it’s a wee bit later than that in Utah).

These are my random musings today; back to regularly scheduled fashion posts tomorrow!

Hello friends!

Happy Monday! It’s not been my typical Monday as today is a near blizzard; I made it to work driving very slow but once I got here none of my clients made it because they can’t get out of their complex โ„๏ธ โ„๏ธโ„๏ธ

So here I am at work trying to make myself useful doing (nothing really) ๐Ÿ˜‚

BUT! I can write on my blog and share something fun! Graphic Tees! They are so versatile and have so much personality!

This one I bought at Salt Lake ComicCon (now referred to as Salt Lake FanX-whatever ๐Ÿ˜‚) but it’s the cutest Big Bang Theory Tee memorializing Soft Kitty song. I paired it with my business like tweed jacket from Target, cuffed black jeans by Cabi and my old pink Rocketdog sneaks from DSW. Of course I had to add bling earrings and a pink bag!

See how fun it can be to change up your wardrobe with a little graphic tee! I do it all the time โค๏ธ

Oh and here’s a photo of today’s fun in the snow โ›„๏ธ this might be the best Monday I’ve ever had

2019 Doesnโ€™t Like Me

Happy New Year friends! Seriously this is what I thought last week! (I have this thing against odd numbers!) but seriously I experienced some unexpected difficulties at work which hijacked my whole week of blogging and life as a hopeful-positive person. Life is hard sometimes but then I just have to keep going right??

So I thought instead of focusing on the negative parts of my week, I would share another closet shopping trip!

It started out as a cold day! Which should have clued me into the negative storm heading my way, but I digress…..

So I wanted to wear some warm leggings (sequin leggings from Express last year are what I decided on๐Ÿ˜‚) YES Then I paired them with a thermal black shirt (tip for dressing warm) and a leopard dress from ASOS last year. I added my leather looking sneaks and my (actually this is new) deep green leather like moto jacket with faux fur collar from Express (at least it was 50% off) and a cute appliquรฉ bag I snagged from Charming Charlie’s a couple years ago.

I stayed warm, I wore a flippin cute dress, and if you looked close- you could see sequins peeking out as I went about my work day. That’s almost enough to balance out a bad work week right??

Do Geese attack? (selfie concerns)

Hello friends! Happy Thursday!

My second favorite day of the week is Thursday! Yay! How is everyone doing?? I hope you all are having a great week and have some fun weekend plans ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought I would share a couple of favorite outfits from this week and my concerns taking pictures this morning: DO GEESE ATTACK??

This morning I was at a location close to my employment (same suburb) and this area has a little creek, lots of trees, and a couple of pretty brick bridges. I love this area, it’s so pretty in the middle of huge office buildings…interesting huh? So I got out of my car to take pictures and there are several geese by me and a weird thought pops in my mind…do geese attack? Should I be worried?

I mean, I’m normally a very cautious person, (except on the freeway); I don’t get close to Bison in Yellowstone National Park or hang over the edge of the cliff at Grand Canyon National Park, but I don’t quite know how to deal with geese. Should I be cautious? Are they going to chase me? Granted I don’t think they’re vicious right? Are they going to squack me to death? Will they flap their wings and blow me away? Not likely but these are odd thoughts running through my mind as I take pictures! Does anyone else think like this or am I the only one?? LOL The things that pop in my mind would probably concern other people!

Anyway here are a couple of my favorite outfits this week. My first one happened by accident! I found this darling spring plaid shirt at Target and realized I have earrings (Also Target) to match, then I thought about wearing white jeans (JCPenney) to make the color in the shirt pop, but it was a little chilly so I wondered what jacket to pick…..my eyes set on my destroyed jean jacket from Forever21 and then I realized I have a coral bag (JCPenney) that perfectly matches the shirt and earrings. The only thing I missed is coral lipstick, interesting I don’t have that color….I’m not sure if it would match my skin tone but now I need to find one right?? It’s a need….

Today (geese picture episode) I have to dress more professional as I have meetings with adults (LOL) but I’m still wearing a pop of color -my red pants (AnnTaylor- old) with my black/white gingham shirt by Express and tassel earrings also Express. I added my black moto jacket by OldNavy because it’s again a little cloudy and chilly ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but even though it’s cloudy I still dress my personality with the pop of color and fun print!

YAY FOR FUN PRINTS RIGHT??

Everyone have a happy Thursday!

Lace and Straw=Spring

Hello Friends!

How are you all doing? How was your weekend? I had a wonderful weekend as I described in my previous post, but back at work this week. Mondays are hard, Tuesdays are manageable, Wednesdays aren’t as difficult, Thursdays are somewhat joyous, and Friday is a breeze…then I have my weekend and start all over again! (That’s my week in a nutshell LOL)

After the beautiful weather over the weekend, I craved wearing something springy, but noticed the storm clouds (of course, since I washed my car Thursday) but wanted to wear something that made me think of Spring! So that is what I’ve done!

I wore my super stretchy and comfy (yet trendy and fun) striped pants (link to this awesome pair of pants below) from Express along with last fall’s lace blouse (also Express) and I added a cute little bag I got a couple years ago on my vacation to South Carolina (purchased by my sister in law for me at Talbots! and it’s so cute and totally on trend right now! Have you seen all these straw/bamboo bags that everyone has and they totally make you think of a summer day!

I really want warm weather, I’m so tired of rain, wind, snow, and cold temps! I’m always like this Jan-April…seriously it happens every year! I get past Christmas and then I’m like…SICK OF BAD WEATHER….I WANT SUNSHINE….NOW! LOL

So there you have it, I’m tired of bad weather, I want what I want, right now! Who’s with me???

Buildings with History

Hello friends!

How is everyone doing today? I hope you are all well and making your way through the week as best you can ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought I would share history of one of my favorite buildings in Provo Utah. I took some pictures there this morning to highlight my outfit (even though it’s super cold again LOL)

The building, Provo Tabernacle, was built between 1883-1898 by pioneers that settled the Provo area. It was used in recent years (while raising my children-1991-2010, I moved back to Provo in 1991) for church meetings (owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and cultural activities. I met in the building many, many times for local meetings and also choir and orchestra concerts involving my children. It was a beautiful building, and I loved the stained glass windows on the outside (that was one of my favorite parts). The acoustics in the building were amazing and highlighted performances of many varieties.

On December 17, 2010 a fire broke out during the night (it was unnoticed for a couple hours people guess, due to the time of night and location of fire) and by the time firefighters knew about it, the fire was too intense to go inside. Almost the whole building was destroyed and my community was heart broken (I was heart broken) to see the building smoking and only the outside brick walls left. The community and anyone I talked to, were unsure if the building would be able to be saved or have to be torn down. It was so tragic.

Then on October 11, 2011, President Thomas S Monson (President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which I belong) announced a plan to completely restore the building to be used as a temple for members in the Provo area. I remember hearing that announcement (my family and I were listening on TV, and we paused the broadcast, and yelled and jumped up and down) to know that our beloved building would be restored. It was such a happy moment.

It was amazing watching the building being restored. One time my daughter and I were close by (at the local post office) and could see the outside original brick walls stabilized and we could see the building looked as if it was in the air, because construction crews were digging down for basement space and foundations (40 feet below original floor of building-it was seriously a engineering miracle). So cool! Eventually the temple was completed and dedicated in 2016- I attended three tours myself, I was so excited.

I’m happy to share with you some public photos of the events and pictures I’ve taken. It’s one of my favorite buildings (many happy memories too) here in Provo.
