Fall into Style

Hello friends!

I thought I would share a fun summer look that would transition easily to fall!

I found this rust colored eyelet top from Target and fell in Love immediately! It has a elastic neck and sleeves and is so comfy. It is eyelet but not see through as sometimes happens with this material.

I wore it with my Kut from the Kloth jeans, leopard slides from TJMaxx, and leopard backpack from ASOS and it’s super cute! I think this top would also be cute with any type of animal print pants or skirt. The eyelet really pops and is so fun!

When the weather cools down, I will add my leopard booties and a cream or black cardigan or possibly a denim jacket and it would be very fun while still keeping you warm!

I love items that can transition to the next season! It makes them so much more fun to wear and I end up wearing these items with several different things.

Ways to Wear Red

Hello Friends and Happy Wednesday!

I’m always glad to make it to Wednesday because that means I’m halfway through my week and I know I can get through the remainder 🙂 I encourage myself by  viewing it this way LOL, I have to talk to myself like this, I bet other people do something similar.

Anyway, I’ve been wearing a lot of red lately but in different ways and I thought I would share several ways to wear red that are fun and new.

First: I paired my Express Camo leggings with a simple black T, my fun army green JCPenney cardigan complete with cool military type decals (only girly), added several necklaces for a tough girl vibe and topped it all off with my favorite red lip (Stila Long Lasting Liquid Lip Color in Fiery-my favorite BTW.

Second: I wore this fabulous pink/red sweater from Asos and some boyfriend jeans from Target, while adding this super cute heart print bag (also Target) and added white boots from Charlotte Russe. This is one of my favorite outfits, seriously the sweater fits so well and is flattering and I’ve got so many compliments on the sweater AND the freakin cute bag. I think I’ll keep both forever or until I’ve worn them out LOL

Third: I found an amazing shirt dress from H&M in snakeprint that I’ve worn three times already, and this time I paired it with my red Asos glossy boots and long red earrings. This dress is so bomb, I’ve worn it as a duster too…there are so many outfit combinations (but going back to red, it pairs really fun and pop with red)!

Fourth: You guys have seen this H&M sweater before, I’ve had it about a year but it goes with so many things! It’s a geometric print combining red/white/black and it’s amazing. I paired it with my perfect leopard coat and that super cute, super fun heart bag-both from Target along with some white earrings a friend gave me (also Target-SugarFix bauble bar) with black jeans and black cozy-faux fur loafers (also Target). This outfit is super fun while also giving me another chance to wear that amazing red liquid lipstick from Stila I mentioned earlier.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all these different ways I wear red and I hope it gives you ideas on how you can incorporate some of the color into your outfit choices too! If anyone needs any help in combining outfits or patterns or colors, please let me know! I am happy to help out!

Shopping my closet for Pink

Hello Friends!

I thought I would start out the week right by sharing a recent shopping trip to my own closet!

I have a pink pleated skirt (Asos) a pink sweater (H&M) both from last year and I love pink! I got some inspiration from my friend @trinagrand to wear all one color as a bold styling tip. I paired my skirt and sweater with some glittery earrings (Charming Charlies), a leopard scarf (Target), and my leopard pumps (Oldnavy). All these items are at least a year old but they look new when paired together!

Monochromatic pairings are very chic and trendy right now and get a special boost with the leopard accessories and sparkle. I think it also gives me a special boost in confidence by just wearing these bold colors!

I am thinking of wearing this ensemble to hubs Christmas party in the next couple weeks; it will be cold so I might add my faux fur leopard coat, won’t that be festive??

I hope these next weeks of posts inspire you to SHOP YOUR CLOSET too!

Corduroy Love History

Hello friends!

Happy weekend!

I wanted to share my early love of corduroy pants! I remember as a sophomore in high school (maybe a freshman?) my mom gave me a pair of blue (baby blue) hip hugger-flare corduroy pants. They were my favorite pants and every time I wore them (coincidentally my crush wore his blue cords) and I took it as a sign he liked me! Oh my goodness, the way my mind worked when I was young! 😂

Anyway, I digress.

A couple weeks ago I discovered a baby blue corduroy jacket and pants (high waist this time) through another popular IG @sassyredlipstick on ASOS (online clothing) and it reminded me so much of my baby blue pants in high school that I couldn’t wait to wear them!

Until I started blogging I never knew how much clothes have had an influence on me through my life.

I’ve wore my new cords twice so far and really like them. I wore once with my Rolling Stones Tee, black loafers from Target, polka dot socks from Amazon, and my red fanny pack also Target. It was such a fun look!

The next time I wore them with my bright colored sweater from Target – again my loafers and dotted socks (I’m in love with those two) and my black circle bag (coincidentally also Target! 😂)

I hope these two outfits give you ideas on how to style corduroy or a suit. My muse is Cate Blanchett’s character on Oceans Eight- she wears an amazing blue suit in one scene (it’s to die for).

Corduroy and blue suit for the win!

Prairie Chic

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!

I hope you’re all well and enjoying the wonderful weather in JULY (or should I say the HEAT) in July? Seriously it was 100 yesterday and I don’t want to leave my house once I get home, it really zaps my energy, I don’t know what to do 😉

Anywho…..

I thought to share the fun dress I got on ZARA website, it was a smoking deal ($25 and apparently now $15) and something a little bit different which I love! This is a maxi dress with floral embroidery (cross stitch) in a beautiful plaid pattern and red/black/lite blue colors! I liked it on the website but fell in love in person! It also has a type of embroidery on it that looks like smocking and the neckline ties with these tassels that’s just darling (don’t hold back from this one, it’s to die for!)

My friend at work called it my “Prairie Chic” dress and I really agree and love! I paired it with an equally new but cheap straw bag-Asos (disguised as a close relative of a lunch basket-seriously how cute can we get?) and I wore my tan sandals and gold tassel earrings.  The front is somewhat low at the ties so I wore a workout tank in baby blue to keep me from hanging out for all to see. I think it’s so fun!

I’m really building up the dress section of my wardrobe which is fun because I do so love wearing fun dresses and when they are inexpensive, I really feel like I’m killing it in life!
