Wig Adventures??

Hello Friends!

How’s everyone doing this fine Thursday??

I thought I would share something that I can now laugh at in regards to my new wig!

Remember a few weeks ago I went bridge jumping and synchronized swimming? Well the same time I traveled with my daughter and her two children in my husband’s SUV, a Ford Explorer with apparently not enough room for the four of us. Granted we each brought a lot of stuff for six days which is necessary when traveling with children.

But we also brought three camp chairs and two inflatable river rafts. We anticipated playing in the lake and the river. We did float down the river and it was so fun (we got the rafts from Costco $20, a great deal). But we packed up our suitcases and all every day because we moved from one hotel room to another (alas we did not plan ahead) so packing up every day was a HUGE pain.

This is where my wig comes into play. There were a few days I did not wear my wig because we were doing water sports, so I brought a couple nice towels from home and I wrapped my wig carefully in the towels and put it all in my suitcase. On the afternoon we were bridge jumping, my grandchildren were playing in the lake and it started to rain. You might notice this on my video in my bridge jumping post. The wind started to blow and it got quite a bit colder than previously. My daughter told me she was getting towels out of the car.

I thought she meant her towels, I did not know she meant my towels which nestled my wig…my $500 wig. So she arrived back with towels and we headed to the Explorer with the kiddies wrapped up warm.

My daughter walked up to me and explained she found my wig laying next to the road by the bridge as she brought her children up the hillside!

Holy mother of pearl! My wig was laying on the ground?? In the dirt?? Next to the road?? How can this be?? I said a few choice words before we figured out she had opened my suitcase and grabbed my towels without noticing the carefully wrapped wig….oh my heavens.

Well when I calmed down (!!!!!) I told her I was sorry for getting mad at her and I brushed out my wig, so thankful that she had noticed it lying on the side of the road (I didn’t see it there?) and picked up and big wad of hair without really knowing why it was there. I’m so thankful my sweet daughter picked up my new wig!

I’m sure my wig will have many adventures over the next several months.

I wore part of my black Halo on a rollercoaster July 4th and it never even came off! I was upside down for quite awhile, so there’s another adventure right??

You never know what life will throw at you!

Bucket List

Hello friends!

Summer is flying by and I’ve been super busy!

I did something brave last week, I jumped off a bridge into a lake (Palisades Reservoir) It was part of our summer family reunion activities โค๏ธ we also floated down Salt River but no video (lots more fun)

I didn’t know it was on my bucket list; I’ve never jumped off a bridge before. I’ve never jumped off a cliff before.

I don’t know why, now that I’m older, I’m doing all these things? Maybe age causes brain damage??

Apparently there is a correct way to jump off a bridge into water. Who knew?? Not me ๐Ÿคจ and oddly enough I did not ask questions.

It was a high bridge (high to me) in a little cove of the reservoir I often played in while growing up. I learned to water ski there when I was young. I personally still like water skiing better ๐Ÿ˜Š

Apparently one should point the toes, drop in the water straight, with your arms high above your head coming to a point or dive like Greg Louganis (but I can’t do that!) LOL

So I just jumped off when I gathered the courage. My left arm was out to my side with my elbow bent. My right arm tried to plug my nose but missed as the force of the water whipped my hand up and I scratched my own forehead. The water was pretty deep and took awhile to rise to the surface and I had a feeling I would drown (panicked).

But I have it on video that I was brave so I never have to do it again. Thankfully my left arm isn’t hurting so bad anymore ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I hope you enjoy my video- bridge jumping

Vacation Time

Hello Friends and happy Wednesday!

Holy cow it has been a minute right??

I went on vacation the middle of June and am almost caught back up.

My husband and I went on a wonderful trip to Peru! It was amazing friends! If you’re ever able to make it, you should!

Our itinerary: We flew to Lima and spent the day touring the city, we then flew to Cusco-drove south of Cusco to Aqua Caliente where we stayed for three nights.

We visited the remains of a temple at Ollantatambo, stopped to sample barbecued guinea pig, hiked remains of a temple at Pisaq and visited a silver smithing store and a world famous potter-Gemanario- where we got my husband a gorgeous wall sconce for father’s day (he spent the rest of our trip carrying it around all boxed up LOL-but it got home in one piece).

We then took an amazing day to see Machu Picchu (the bus ride up the mountain with all the crazy switchbacks was wild!) and it was breathtaking, I can’t explain how mind boggling it is to actually see in person!

The next day we spent exploring temple ruins (several) in Cusco including Qoricancha, stopped at a Llama farm, and explored Cusco on foot outside of our tour company. That was fun and Cusco is a fabulous city.

The next day we flew from Cusco to Juliaca which is a much higher elevation and we drove through the countryside (visiting a family farm and ruins of a pre incan burial ground before we made our way to Puno (elevation 13,500) right on the edge of Lake Titicaca. I had a little bit of altitude sickness that day and spent some time with oxygen in the morning and at night to help adjust. We took a boat ride out on the lake to visit the Uros floating Islands which was way way cool and then we were out in the body of the lake and far far in the distance, we could see the side of Bolivia.

That night we took a taxi into Puno and ate at a fun Chinese restaurant (yes in Peru-only two chinese people in all of Puno!) and made our way back to the hotel through a group of people protesting in front of a court building. That was interesting, I heard a couple of people say “gringos” LOL but we were safe!

The next morning we began our two day flight back to the USA. We flew from Juliaca to Cusco, Cusco to Lima, Lima to LA and LA to SLC. We had a nine hour layover in Lima and a six hour layover in LA.

Finally we made it home and I was tired, but we sure had fun! It was an amazing trip and I love the country of Peru!

I hope you enjoy some of my pictures!

(Another post later this week will address my wardrobe issues while on this trip ๐Ÿ˜‚)!

U Can Wear Athleisure 2

Hello Friends and happy Thursday!

We are more than halfway through the week! Yay! Thursday is just one day from Friyay and I’ve found it’s easier to hype myself on Thursday than Monday. Thursday is my second favorite day of the work week LOL

I’ve been reading and seeing all about the athleisure look wondering if I could really wear it too, sometimes trends seem too young to give a go, but a couple weeks ago I was perusing the Macys clearance rack and discovered two awesome items: one is a Calvin Klein spin on leopard print with pinks and purples (it’s really not a challenge for me to get on board with any type of leopard and the second are black (thick weave) leggings with a silver sparkle strip down the outside of the legs (the sparkle and strip are totally me)! I was super excited to match these together (and I’ve wore the leggings with other things of course, they are so versatile). I added my pink Rocketdogs and a white purse and it looks so fun! You’d never know it’s really work out clothes (really we are so lucky that fashion now is so versatile. It’s cool to wear something in a different context, mix prints, mix styles, and wear bold colors together! It’s such a fun time in fashion!)

I hope this gives you inspiration to wear your own spin of athleisure throughout your week and not just while working out ๐Ÿ™‚

Together at Last! (A boot story)

Hello friends and happy weekend!

I’m sharing a story of two loves recently reunited! It involves a cold spring trip to Chicago ๐Ÿ˜‚

In 2016 I accompanied hubs on a work training he had in Chicago the end of April. I was super excited because I had never been and I could do some sightseeing while he was training.

I checked the weather on a couple of apps and it said 50 degrees or so and so I brought several warmer spring outfits and a couple light cardigans. (Those of you living in Chicago or having visited at that time might guess what happened) ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ

It was freakin cold! Everyone was bundled up, still wearing coats and boots and I brought spring clothing! Holy cow! I even brought sandals. Yes I was miserable and the only one in the city wearing sandals but I still went out and took a (very cold) boat tour of the city. It was amazing and I’d love to go back-in the summer.

While I was there I momentarily visited the (is it five stories) Macys downtown! Normally I could spend all day doing this but I was with two other (work wives) and they weren’t much into shopping-unfortunately ๐Ÿ™ but I was looking for a pair of boots! There are always good reasons to buy boots but this time I was looking for something to keep my feet warm.

I ended up finding a black suede pair with fringe on the side- only they were a 9 1/2 and I wear a 10. They were a wee bit tight but I needed boots bad and they were cute.

I spent the remainder of the trip wearing these too small boots and by the time we were flying home I knew I couldn’t keep them. I gave them to my youngest daughter and she wears them with thick socks ๐Ÿ˜‚

BUT! This week at Target (of course at Target) I found a cute (size 10) pair of short black cowboy boots with fringe! How lucky am I to reunite with my fringe boots???

Reunited and it feels (and fits) so good!!

Graphic Arts

Hello friends!

Happy Monday! It’s not been my typical Monday as today is a near blizzard; I made it to work driving very slow but once I got here none of my clients made it because they can’t get out of their complex โ„๏ธ โ„๏ธโ„๏ธ

So here I am at work trying to make myself useful doing (nothing really) ๐Ÿ˜‚

BUT! I can write on my blog and share something fun! Graphic Tees! They are so versatile and have so much personality!

This one I bought at Salt Lake ComicCon (now referred to as Salt Lake FanX-whatever ๐Ÿ˜‚) but it’s the cutest Big Bang Theory Tee memorializing Soft Kitty song. I paired it with my business like tweed jacket from Target, cuffed black jeans by Cabi and my old pink Rocketdog sneaks from DSW. Of course I had to add bling earrings and a pink bag!

See how fun it can be to change up your wardrobe with a little graphic tee! I do it all the time โค๏ธ

Oh and here’s a photo of today’s fun in the snow โ›„๏ธ this might be the best Monday I’ve ever had
