Some times I have random thoughts such as “do I wear too much pink”? Normally I’m the last one to leave the house in the mornings and it’s even not a question I can ask my husband because he has no opinion on what color I wear LOL
But I have to remember….it is vital to remember IT DOES NOT MATTER! LOL I could wear pink or green or a dress or a skirt and IT DOES NOT MATTER!
I think I could probably wear pink pants, pink shirt, pink jacket, pink shoes with pink bag and earrings and IT STILL WOULD NOT MATTER!
These are my thoughts for the day, when you have those judgmental things pop up in your mind (such as: am I too fat, can someone see this zit, does my hair look funny, am I wearing too much pink, can someone see my wrinkles?)….say to yourself IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT I THINK and then wear what you want, ignore that zit, ignore what the media says you should weigh or ignore judgments about your hair or age or makeup or skin or feet. This will help, I promise.
Just to show it does not matter, I’m attaching photos of the day I thought I wore too much pink…I don’t think my thoughts about that mattered.
A rainy Saturday. Riding my bike six miles in new bike shorts my son/daughter in law gave me. And because I can… I’m snuggled in a blanket watching Thor:The Dark World. It’s a self care Saturday.
I discovered something the last week or so: I follow several popular ladies on IG and I realized one I follow that used to tag affordable fashion is not doing so much anymore. I think she might be getting too popular (?) or too many followers (?) and is now linking outfits (Kate Spade for example) that are just gorgeous but not attainable for the every day woman.
I can’t afford, except for an unusual occasion (see once every few years) a $250 dress and I get frustrated following people that link items that are super expensive ($$$). I would rather pay less for clothes.
So I thought I would share a couple of inexpensive items that are trendy now but super cheap!
I perused several stores looking for a white jean jacket and lite pink jeans. JCPenney has both for around $80 with a 20% coupon. But the next day I found both these items (jacket and jeans) at Old Navy for (think it was $51). There was a sign above the jackets showing them 50% off so I got the jacket for 20! Typically you can also find coupons for OldNavy or you might have rewards and it’s even cheaper.
I saw someone else wearing something similar except higher prices at a high end store. I don’t need high end items; I love to find great deals so I thought I would pass on my finds to you my friends! Happy Thursday!
How is everyone doing?? I hope you are well, thanks for reading my blog!
I thought I would share some struggles that I think most women have: summer weather combined with the office air conditioning 😉 You might already know what I’m gonna say!
Now that summer is here to stay (I mean I don’t think it will snow again, never say never though), it was 85 today and earlier in the week 90, so I’m thinking for the most part it will be warm (give or take a random day). I am loving the summer sunshine! It’s absolutely gorgeous in the morning and I love seeing all the trees, flowers, bushes out in their green finery! I was ready for it!
At the same time I’m wearing my summer clothes that are appropriate for the office, I’m also planning to be cold when I get inside LOL and at the same time be ready to get in my black-leather lined oven of a car when I leave! It’s a delicate balance!
Take today for instance: I wore my summer floral dress and sandals (they are a couple years old) but I combined this with my new bamboo bag (Amazon and so summery) and (just in case I freeze later) my destroyed jean jacket from Forever 21! I always need to be prepared to be hot or cold! I usually always bring some type of cardigan or jacket just in case 🙂 I have lots of jackets, it seems to be a thing with me, so I am always ready in case I am cold!
The motto of the day: BE PREPARED!
So this weekend I got to lay in bed after six am twice!! I think it’s so peaceful to wake up naturally:) (granted I did wake up sweating at 1am but I’m pretty sure that had to do with yesterday being the hottest day so far (freaking AC is not on) and NOT me waking naturally LOL).
Even though I was very busy yesterday: grandson basketball game, lunch with kids, grocery shopping, wash car, organizing my pantry and putting in shelves, laundry mat to wash huge mattress pad and pillows, but at the end of the day I felt very accomplished (Celebrated by watching 2nd Avengers!) I even found time to discover a new pair of fringe sandals and circle bag at Target (while looking for shelves!) so I really think as I accomplished stuff on my list, I gradually de stressed and was able to find something cute!!
What a great weekend! (I hope your weekend was lovely too and thanks so much for reading my random weekly thoughts!)
I’ve had a weird experience lately, I’ll cal it the shopping blues.
I went to Marshall’s, JCPenney, Target, and Old Navy and only found one blouse that I really liked. I got the one at OldNavy but sheesh am I depressed?? Really only find one thing to buy?
Granted I didn’t hit H&M or Ann Taylor but not a ton of time as I had an eye appointment yesterday after I got off work. Maybe I wasn’t really putting my whole effort into the experience?
Sometimes that happens to me and I think maybe I’m overwhelmed with work and need to watch some movies, go for a walk, get my toe nails done, play with grandkids, chat with friends, more movies, sleep in, garden, (maybe do my laundry and clean- not necessarily) -that’s my plan of self care and I think I’ll be back online shopping in no time 😜
I hope you all made it through Monday?? Thank goodness it’s almost over; it rained and snowed my whole commute to work! Me and Monday are not friends at all! If it’s ever forecast to snow on Monday, you can bet your first child that it will be at 8am! My life problems right?? LOL
So I think everyone knows about my scenic trip to two of Utah’s National Parks over the weekend right?? Well there’s one thing you didn’t know….
We traveled through Bryce Canyon National Park and it is beautiful. I’ll share some fun pictures but I did want to share my thoughts about selfies as I visited Bryce Canyon.
We walked up to the highest elevation overlook-Rainbow Point at 9115 elevation and as I look over, I see a young woman straddling the protective wall meant to keep people from falling over the cliff. I felt super anxious as I worried that she would topple right off-and tumble down 800 feet (the wind was also super gusting at that elevation, so would be easy to loose your balance). She is also on her phone either facetiming or taking a selfie…I can’t tell which. I walked over by her and asked her ‘who is going to save your life if you fall’ and she kind of shrugged and got down…Seriously people! This totally freaked me out and was very dangerous! Please please be safe when you take pictures or selfies. I understand the need for selfies….c’mon I take them just about every day, but please be safe when doing so. It’s not worth getting hurt, maimed, or dying. It’s just not worth it.
Back to beautiful pictures of Bryce Canyon National Park 😉
