So I got a set of DVD’s for Christmas; T25 BeachBody work out and some workout clothes from OldNavy. I used the first DVD this morning, the Cardio workout…I was super pumped…for a couple minutes. Then I got sweaty and tired and somewhat confused about the direction to kick my foot! haha I will not give up!
The cardio workout has a couple of tricky steps and I have to tell you, I’m not super coordinated. A couple months ago, I participated in a neighborhood Zumba class directed by a good friend about 30 years older and more coordinated than I. She kicked butt and I moved the wrong direction several times in five minutes.
The last ten years I’ve weightlifted on and off (shoulder injuries and health problems in general interrupted at times) but I don’t have to be coordinated at all to be able to weight lift. I want to be one of those older ladies that can still walk when I’m 90 years old, so I will persevere in my workouts!
My grandpa turned 96 a few short weeks ago and he’s still moving around…the key is staying active when you don’t have to….going up and down the stairs when there’s an elevator, walking up the escalator; even forgetting something upstairs at home is not a bad thing because I can run up and downstairs as many times as I forget something (which is often, FYI)
So I thought I’d share my daily experience getting back into an exercise routine and my workout clothes from Old Navy. The cross cross ankle detail on these pants is super fun (Fashion can motivate me to exercise don’t ya know!) if there are any of you thinking of getting more active, there is never a bad time to get moving!
