Mad For Plaid

Hey what’s the deal with plaid lately? I never knew it liked it!

Actually I have a couple of plaid flannel shirts which I love to wear in the winter but I haven’t ever got on the plaid bandwagon in other ways until recently! I purchased a plaid bomber jacket which I’ve posted a couple of times but never had an official “jacket” until below:

I got a beautiful plaid fitted jacket from Target and I was so excited to wear it. A friend, Kathy Tremlett Eggleston corrected me in clarifying it is a glen plaid jacket. I had not even known that!

So anyway in putting an outfit together I tried different colors for pants and tops under the jacket but nothing seemed to work until I paired my black Madewell top, a.n.a. JCPenney red skinney jeans, Asos red booties and a velvet crossover bag also by JCPenney. These bold, bright colors keep this jacket from looking “frumpy and dated” according to a good friend and it totally works! Let me know how you’re working your tweed or plaid jackets! Pair them with some bright colors, be risky, and see how that ups your fashion game 🙂
